it's been too long...

Ok.. first, I'm sorry that it's been a total of 5 days since I've posted anything.
I've been supremely busy down here in Georgia with Mom & Grandma.
Mostly just hanging around with them.

An update is due.

On Tuesday, I drove the hour long commute to where my grandma used to live (Hinesville) and had dinner with an old friend (from fifth grade, yes, I said fifth grade).

{while Dad was stationed in Korea, he stationed us with Grandma Opal}

Faith was one of the very first girls that I met while in school.
She lived in the neighborhood next to ours and we had so much fun.
We'd secretly walk along the railroad tracks (through the woods) to eachothers houses after school.

Now that I think back on it...
as a (semi) adult,
I am amazed at how young and carefree and just plain naive we were back then.
I mean, walking through the woods?
Seriously?
Well, it was no big deal I guess.
Michelle & I would occasionally walk home from middle school together instead of taking the school bus.
It was not a short walk.
{Especially at 10 years old.)
Misha & I would stop on the way at a convenience shop and get Dr. Pepper's and salt&vinegar chips.
Then we'd rush the rest of the way
so that when the bus went past our street for the second time,
it would look like we had just gotten off the bus.
Yeah, we were those girls.

Now tonight, I'm getting the chance to meet up with some of my other best friends from the same year.

Oh, did I mention that although Jackie had to get back to NY and left on Thursday, I did not?
I'm still here!
Mama asked me to stay awhile longer and I happily jumped at the chance to hang out a bit longer.
So here I am.
And although I'm not quite sure how I'm getting back yet -
{plane, train, bus, hitch-hiking, etc...)
it will work out when it needs to.
Especially since Meg might come to visit (after she gets better, that is).

So, I'm still in Georgia with Mom & Grandma, cooking, cleaning, playing with the dog & cat, going to doctors appointments with them, shopping, you know - the basics of just keeping them company.
I'm loving it, btw.
And for now,
I hope all of you are doing well and just all around enjoying yourselves and your weekend!
